Free Letter E Worksheets

11 letter e worksheets on wooden plank background

These free Letter E Worksheets are an essential resource for homeschool parents and classroom teachers alike! Perfect for a “Letter of the Week” focus or for reinforcing letter recognition, they’re super easy to access and use. When I was teaching preschool, we typically introduced the alphabet in order, spending a week on each letter. In my kindergarten classroom, however, we explored several letters each week, not always in the alphabetical sequence. No matter your teaching approach, these worksheets serve as excellent tools for practice, review, or enrichment.

All of the worksheets are available as PDF downloads, making them simple to print and use as many times as you need—whether for your own children at home or students in a classroom setting!

Identifying Letters Ee

I’m organizing the worksheets by skill level, starting with the letter identification activities. These printables focus on finding both uppercase E and lowercase a through fun letter searches. I’ve also added a sorting activity that helps kids distinguish between capital and lowercase Ee.

These worksheets are great for a variety of age groups—toddlers, preschoolers, and kindergarteners. When I taught kindergarten, I often used these sheets for morning work, extra practice, or in small, differentiated learning groups.

Letter E Handwriting Sheets

Along with the letter identification pages, I also put together some handwriting practice worksheets for the letter E. I made sure to include a lined space at the top of each page for students to write their names—since kids learning to write letters often need extra name-writing practice, too. This helps reinforce proper use of the top, middle, and bottom lines when forming letters.

Each worksheet features a large letter with step-by-step formation cues, plus a small box at the top where students can identify the featured letter.

Short /e/ Sheets

To wrap things up, I also designed letter E worksheets that focus on the short /e/ sound. The first two pages highlight the initial /e/ sound, where students can either circle or cut and paste pictures that start with that sound. The next two sheets shift to the medial /e/ sound, featuring images with the short /e/ in the middle.

These phonics activities are great for preschoolers, kindergarteners, and even first graders who could use a refresher on previously learned skills.

I’m currently working on creating letter worksheets for the entire alphabet, so if the letter you’re looking for isn’t available yet, be sure to check back soon! You can also subscribe to my newsletter to stay updated when new free printables are added.
