Free Letter K Worksheets

If you’re introducing early literacy skills, these Letter K Worksheets make a fun and flexible resource. You can use them as part of a weekly letter focus, weave them into your morning work routine, or pull them out anytime your learners need a little extra practice.

When I worked with preschoolers, we strolled through the alphabet one letter at a time, giving each week its own spotlight. Later, in my kindergarten classroom, I grouped letters in ways that supported phonics patterns rather than sticking strictly to ABC order. Every teaching style looks a little different, and that’s the beauty of it! No matter your approach, these worksheets slip easily into your plans as simple reinforcement or enrichment activities.

Each set is available as a printable PDF, making prep quick and stress-free. Just download, hit print, and you’re ready to go whether you’re teaching a room full of kiddos or guiding your own children at the kitchen table.

Letter K Identification

I’ve arranged the worksheets by skill progression, and the first section highlights basic recognition activities. Here, your child will explore pages that invite them to spot uppercase and lowercase Kk in a variety of search-style layouts. There’s also a sorting activity where learners place capital and lowercase versions of the letter into their correct categories.

You can use these printables with a broad range of young learners, from curious toddlers all the way up to kids in kindergarten. Back when I taught kindergarten, resources like this were my go-tos for settling kids in at the start of the day, adding meaningful practice to our routine, or supporting groups that needed targeted instruction.

Letter K Handwriting

I also created handwriting pages focused on the letter K. Each sheet includes a spot at the top for children to write their names, which is a great way to combine letter practice with name writing. This extra step helps little learners understand how to use the top, middle, and bottom lines while strengthening their overall handwriting skills.

These pages are useful for young writers no matter their age. While most children are introduced to writing the letter K in preschool or kindergarten, I’ve noticed that my first grader still benefits from going back to these handwriting exercises.

Letter K Sound Sheets

I put these worksheets together to give kids a little extra practice hearing and identifying the /k/ sound at the beginning and end of words. The first two pages focus on pictures that start with the /k/ sound, and the later ones help children listen for /ck/ at the end.

Since every child learns differently, I included a mix of activities. Some pages let kids color or circle the pictures with the /k/ sound, while others offer simple cut-and-paste work for those who enjoy something more hands-on. I’ve found that having a variety of ways to practice keeps things fun and helps the sound really “stick,” and I hope these printables do the same for your little learner!

All of these letter Kk worksheets are ready to go as simple PDF downloads, making them quick to print whenever you need them. I usually use them for morning work or small-group practice, but you can easily fit them into your own routine in whatever way works best for your kids!
