2 printable Thanksgiving Pictionary games on wooden plank background

At our house, the excitement doesn’t stop after Halloween. Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and we’re shifting into full-on celebration mode! As we prep for family gatherings and cozy fall fun, adding games to the mix is a must.

Thanksgiving Pictionary is one of our go-to activities for this festive season. It’s always a crowd pleaser and super easy to set up! Even younger kids can join in the fun with the help of picture clues that match each word on the cards, making it perfect for early readers, too.

Whether you’re hosting Thanksgiving at home, planning a classroom activity, or just looking for a fun way to keep everyone entertained, Thanksgiving Pictionary is sure to bring lots of laughs and great memories for all ages!

How To Play

Thanksgiving Pictionary is super simple to prepare and play. Here’s what you’ll need to get started:

  1. Print and cut out the Thanksgiving Pictionary cards.
(For extra durability, print on cardstock and laminate them so you can reuse them next year.)
  2. Set up your drawing area.
Use a chalkboard, dry erase board, easel pad, or even just a big sheet of paper. Provide drawing tools like markers, chalk, or pencils.
  3. Divide players into two teams.
  4. Place the Pictionary cards in a festive Thanksgiving container, basket, or face down in a pile.

To play, a player from Team 1 draws a card from the pile and begins illustrating the word or phrase with no talking or writing letters. Team 1 has one minute to guess what’s being drawn. If they guess correctly, they earn one point. After the minute is up (whether they guessed it or not), it’s Team 2’s turn. Keep alternating turns until all the cards have been used. The team with the most points at the end wins!

Optional: Add to the fun by preparing small Thanksgiving-themed prizes or treats for the winning team!
