Fall Pictionary Words

two pages of fall Pictionary Words with orange borders

The generic Pictionary words I created were such a hit that I decided to make themed versions. The fall printable Pictionary cards are the perfect way to get ready for the autumn season. Whether you plan to use them at home or in the classroom, kids love these specially themed words!

When printing the PDF, you’ll notice that in addition to the fall term on each card, I also included a graphic of the word. My younger daughter likes to use these images as hints or guides when she’s playing with her big sister. This means that kids of all ages can join in the fun.

And, for some extra excitement, you could even provide fall themed snacks for the kids to enjoy as they play!

How to Play

Fall Pictionary requires very little preparation. Just print and cut out the Pictionary cards below. (You may even want to print them on card stock and laminate them to use next year.) Prepare a board for drawing (chalkboard, dry erase board, paper, etc.) and drawing materials (markers, chalk, pencils, etc.). Create two teams and a place on your board to keep score. And that’s it!

  1. Place the Pictionary cards in a basket or face down in a pile.
  2. A member from Team #1 should draw a Pictionary card from the pile or basket. Once the illustrator begins drawing, the team members on Team #1 get one minute to guess the drawing. If they correctly guess the illustration, they get one point.
  3. At the end of the minute, play moves to Team #2.
  4. Continue rotating between the two teams until all of the cards have been used.

The team with the most points at the end of the game wins! You could even prepare prizes for the winners in advance for some extra fun.

Final Thoughts

Pictionary is such a fun, light-hearted game for students to enjoy in the classroom. Back when I was teaching elementary school, my little ones loved the themed and holiday versions of the game.

Now that I homeschool my two girls, we try to incorporate special activities like Pictionary into our holiday lessons. Although, it’s on a much smaller scale than in the classroom with larger teams.

No matter how you choose to play, your family, children, or students are sure to enjoy this easy game of fall Pictionary!
