Game Rules
Here’s a simple guide to get you started on your game of Pictionary:
Materials Needed:
- Paper
- Drawing Tools (pencils, markers, crayons, etc.)
- Timer
- Pictionary Cards (You can print our free list below.)
- Container (bowl, hat, etc. to hold Pictionary cards)
Set Up:
- Print and cut out the Pictionary words below. Place the cards in a container.
- Divide your group into two teams. (If there are only a few players, you can also play individually.)
- Each team picks a designated drawer for each turn.
How to Play:
- Start Drawing:
- The first designated drawer selects a random card without showing it to their team.
- Set the timer for a designated time (usually 1-2 minutes).
- Draw, Don’t Speak:
- The drawer starts drawing the word without speaking.
- No letters or numbers can be used.
- Guessing Time:
- The team members try to guess the word while the drawer is drawing.
- If they guess correctly before the time runs out, the team scores a point.
- Switch Turns:
- Play then moves to the next team and continues the same way as mentioned above.
- Have the teams rotate the drawer each time so that each child gets a turn.
- Keep Score:
- Keep track of points for each correct guess. The team with the most points at the end wins.
- You can play until a specified number of points, a certain amount of time, or until each child gets a turn to draw.
- Have a Blast:
- Most importantly, have fun, laugh, and enjoy the creative chaos of Pictionary! Remember, it’s not about being a perfect artist. It’s about having a great time together!
