Free Valentine’s Day Word Search Puzzles

three printable word search puzzles featuring Valentine's Day words and graphics on wood plank background

If you’re preparing for your upcoming class Valentine’s Day party, you’ll love my printable word search puzzles! They’re great for use during morning work time, as extension activities, or during the class party itself. Now that I homeschool my own kids, I even print them to use for fun at home.

Word search puzzles can be an educational activity for kids if you tie in a vocabulary lesson on the included words. They can also help younger kids learn how to spell holiday terms. Whether you plan to use the word searches in a lesson or just for fun, I think your students will love the printables below!

Each printable is free and easy to download as a PDF file. I also included an answer key for the puzzles to help with checking the answers. Since I used to teach multiple grade levels, I tried to create several different Valentine’s Day puzzles for various age groups.

My easy Valentine’s Day Word Search is perfect for kids in first and second grade. (You could use it with advanced kindergarteners as well.) This word puzzle features twelve short words that most younger students will know. The words are placed horizontally or vertically, making it fairly easy to find the words.

In addition to the easy Valentine’s Day puzzle, I created one that works well with older elementary students. This word search includes twelve words like the one above. However, the terms are longer, making them more difficult to find. I also added more rows and columns to this puzzle. AND I chose to include diagonally placed words rather than just vertical and horizontal terms. I feel like this puzzle would be appropriate for kids in second, third, or fourth grade.

The final Valentine’s Day word search I created is great for older kids. This advanced puzzle includes additional rows and columns as well as longer words. You’ll also notice that the terms are hidden vertically, horizontally, diagonally, and backwards, which makes it even more challenging! This printable is perfect for kids in grade 3 and up!

I hope you and your kids have a super fun Valentine’s Day! Don’t forget to print the answer key with each puzzle to make it easier. Also, if you enjoyed my Valentine’s Day puzzles, you should check out more of my printables below:
