Free Printable Writing Paper for Kids

If you’re looking for printable kids writing paper, you’re in luck! I homeschool my two girls and am constantly in need of lined paper for kindergarten and older elementary grade levels. Rather than purchasing paper for my kids to use during lessons, I decided to create my own printable pages.

Below, you’ll find blank writing pages with primary style lines and notebook paper style lines. Many of the templates also include a picture box where your students can illustrate their writing.

Using the Lined Paper

I typically refer to the first style of writing paper as kindergarten paper, but these pages come in handy for preschool, first grade, and second grade also. These lined pages feature wider lines with a middle dashed line.

This type of paper is great for students who are still learning how to correctly form letters and numbers. The primary paper comes in portrait and landscape design. I also created versions of the writing paper with picture boxes, so your child can illustrate their creations.

For older elementary students, you’ll love the lined pages that are similar to wide ruled notebook paper. You can print the regular style paper or the lined pages with a picture box. Additionally, you’ll find templates for letter writing practice if your students are studying how to create friendly letters.

If you plan to reuse the pages, you could always laminate them or place them inside plastic sheet covers. This way your students can use a dry erase marker and eraser to write and remove their work.
