Free Letter C Worksheets

I’m slowly making my way through the alphabet to create worksheets with each of the letters. These letter C sheets are perfect for kindergarteners; although, preschoolers and first graders would probably also benefit from them. For now, I’m focusing on identification, handwriting, and letter-sound sheets. But I’m hoping to eventually branch out more with each letter, including hard c and soft c.
All of my worksheets are completely free to download and print. I’m currently homeschooling my girls, so we use these at home. However, the printables are also perfect for teachers to use in the classroom!
Identifying Letter C
I taught kindergarten for several years, and one of the earliest skills I taught was identifying each letter. So, I created worksheets for students to identify capital C and lowercase c when mixed in with other letters of the alphabet.
These sheets will require students to really focus on the letter bubbles since I tried to throw in letters that could confuse them. When I taught preschool and kindergarten, I would often tell my students that some of the letters were there to “trick” them. They always thought it was fun and clever to NOT get tricked by the letters that look alike (like C and G).
I also included a sheet on sorting capital C and lower case c. This worksheet is great for younger students or those kids who may struggle with letter identification. It requires learners to cut and glue, which is also great for fine motor development!
Letter C Handwriting
I was always a stickler for neat handwriting, and these letter C sheets offer great practice! I purposely included primary lines for students to write their names correctly at the top. Each sheet also displays the correct way to form each letter.
You’ll notice a small box at the top where students can identify the letter they are working on. Plus, dots on the printables provide guides as to where students should start writing each letter.
Letter C Sound Sheets
Finally, I’m including letter C sound sheets for those students who have mastered letter identification. You could even use these with first graders. The top two sheets feature initial /c/ while the bottom printables offer final /ck/ practice.
Again, I incorporated cutting and gluing on some of the worksheets to give students that extra fine motor skills practice.
All of these letter C worksheets come in PDF format and are easy to download and print. I would typically use these as morning work or differentiated group activities, but you can incorporate them in whatever way works best for your classroom!
